The 2017 Tinto Quinta de Saes is a blend of 30% each of Touriga Nacional and Alfrocheiro, 25% Jaen and the rest Tinta Roriz. It was aged for 18 months in well-used French barriques (at least eight years old). It comes in at 13% alcohol. Showing some stuffing this year, this value-level red is also possessed of good structure and ripe fruit. It throws off plenty of flavor, plums and blueberries with some strawberry around the edges, but always in a dry and controlled fashion. This does have some structure, but it's made to drink young, so don't hesitate.
