Valérie Courrèges - 'Zinzolin' Rouge - 2020
Sud Ouest, France
Bruised Black Plum - Anise - Earthy
Valérie tends to 22 hectares of old vines rooted in sublime terroir of clay and limestone which she converted to biodynamic farming in accordance with the Demeter certification (though not offically certified). The grapes are all hand harvested from vines planted in 1982. Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in small concrete vats with moderate extraction over 9-12 days. The wine is aged for 12 months in small concrete vats as well as sandstone jars. Forget the heavy, oaky malbecs that are classic within the South West, this is deep, intense, yet juicy and fresh all rolled into one. 40% Malbec, 30% Syrah, 20% Cabernet Franc, 10% Merlot No fining, filtration or synthetic chemistry.
As a licensed restaurant, by Ontario liquor law we are required to sell you a single food item if you purchase alcohol.
If you do not specify which food item you'd like your order will come with a bag of Miss Vickies Original chips. They're super tasty :)
